INTRODUCTION TO DICHROIC FUSED GLASS JEWELRY MAKING

Learn How To Create Exquisite Dichroic Fused Glass Jewelry Adornments in our exciting series of TWO, FULL day-long classes!

*You MUST have basic glass fusing experience in order to take this class.*
*You need NOT have taken a basic class with the Lasses, we only ask that you have a firm grasp of basic fusing skills (i.e., how to create a firing schedule for slumping, draping, tack fusing or full fusing, the C.O.E. of glass and why it is important, annealing, etc.). If you do not yet possess these skills, our FUSING FOR BEGINNERS class will teach you these and other essential techniques.*

Pippa (“Pip”) Cossette of TWO LASSES GLASS CLASSES, will once again be sharing her passion for glass fusing in TWO, FULL day-long classes that will teach you how to create exquisite fused glass jewelry using dichroic glass!

Sponsored and hosted by GLASS CRAFTERS, classes are conveniently held at the Glass Crafters studio, next to their store at 398 Interstate Court, (just off I-75 at the Fruitville Road exit) in Sarasota, Florida.

Each student will create FOUR uniquely different dichroic glass jewelry pieces including THREE pendant cabochons, two of which will feature a horizontal channel running through the glass. The other pendant piece will be an exercise in etching glass using a "resist" technique and will feature a glue-on bail. Students will also create a pair of elegant, button-style earrings and techniques for creating drop earrings will be discussed and demonstrated. Students will learn how to design their pieces for maximum beauty and sparkle using a fabulous assortment of dichroic glass and a specially developed intarsia technique! Production methods will also be taught in this fun and fast-paced class. Students will learn and practice a number of finishing skills that will involve sawing, grinding, and drilling techniques, and will also be taught the proper methods for applying assorted findings to complete their jewelry designs.
